Yes I have and I causeless it was because they are even so in the procedure of removing the photos, is information technology something that would accept time? I have likewise noticed free accounts yet showing over the limit of photos allowed.

I have also noticed complimentary accounts still showing over the limit of photos allowed.

Flickr is non going to offset actively deleting content over the 1000 limit on Gratis accounts until February fifth.

They've just instituted an upload freeze on FREE accounts that are over the chiliad limit.

Anyone else come across this?

I accept non. If it is happening, I do have a theory which is improve left unsaid. More probable, people are changing their upload dates on selected older photos to save them from deletion.

it seems the "1000" photo limit for non-pro users isn't in place for some.

This is how the1000 limit is supposed to work for free accounts:

a) From 7th Jan, no new photos can exist uploaded, if the full is already k+ (please draw the prove you have that this is still possible)

b) From 5th February, any photos that were non uploaded with Creative Commons earlier 1st November concluding year 'are at risk of deletion' , whilst the full number of photos is in excess of 1000. However, if there are more than g photos with Creative Commons from before Nov 1st,

none of those volition be deleted, therefore the full number of photos could remain above 1000.

What is it that tells y'all some people with over 1000 photos tin can still upload?

I stand up corrected

###

Despite my own account existence blocked, as I was expecting, I have looked at some of the examples provided elsewhere, and found my own examples, and it is obvious that some users with very big free accounts are still able to upload.

Clearly, the blocking of free acounts in excess of one,000 photos/videos has been a chip of a shambles.

Given that, I dread to think what will exist the outcome of the Big Purge...

This thread may offer 1 theory as to how some people were able to upload more 1,000 photos:

Indeed, and it'south also been institute that elevate & drop on the upload page can still work for some, fifty-fifty when it says uploading is no longer immune.

Also reported, the phone apps might be letting stuff in through the back door, though I suspect if flickrHQ have spotted the 'upload by email' loophole, they may well have picked upwardly on the apps too, by now...

Yeah, I accept been able to continue to upload later on the borderline. I think this is something that Flickr volition have to deal with on its ain. I imagine they have programmers who will address the issue sooner or after, simply later on allowing this for 5 years or and so, it'south not exactly like there's a rush...

But IF those Free account holders had already configured their "magic" email address it might still work, at least at the moment.

Why is the 1000 photo limit not enforced for all costless accounts?
Because the site is hard to get under control. For many years different features were added in haste, may projects were started and abandoned. It resulted in so many inconsistencies that it would take programming superpower to set them correct.

The Searcher bilang:

Information technology is very common when implementing new site broad features to roll it out incrementally. That style if bugs are discovered as they scale upward they can address them before making the bugs worse (for case it would take sucked pretty badly if they flipped the switch so constitute out they included all Pro accounts in the block).

So it was unlikely that there would be a single moment of "flipping a switch" that blocked millions of members from uploading simultaneously. I suspect when the borderline for deletion hits information technology volition exist similarly rolled out a few thousand users at a time.

Almost certainly truthful...

And not but considering of the 'attempt information technology and see' approach, but also because mass deletion of data (images, etc) could cause immense instability in the database if not managed very carefully.

I'd also wait prioritisation of largest, longest fallow accounts, get the biggest gains early on.

I recently updated to the pro account because I love using Flickr and I can salve all of my photos and I had a account since July 2014, when I checked my e-mail about Flickr free account going from 1TB to 1000 photos and I said that isn't 1000 enough for me because I take pictures well-nigh every day and I salvage them on to Flickr then I can have room on my devices that I utilize so I went with the pro on January 5 2019

Yeah, I have been able to proceed to upload after the borderline.

I have no idea if I can proceed uploading. Later on deleting 8000 photos down to 998, I have no will to even try.

Even if flickr were to change now and say you tin proceed uploading until you accomplish say 5000 photos, I don't call back I would fifty-fifty then upload annihilation as the damage has already been done.
